Age of Empires 3 Wars of Liberty?

Age of Empires 3 Wars of Liberty?

    Wars of Liberty?

Hey guys. Been playing online for a while now and wondering if Wars of Liberty is worth downloading? I've checked the web page and it looks pretty cool, less enticed by new civs but very enticed by the new maps.

What do you guys think? Are there lots of people who play it or in reality is it only a select few? I play the game purchased on steam on my pc and online is via eso

Move aside France. Ports is the king of Treaty in RE

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 04:53 AM PDT

Pretty simple, ports wins cuz of explorer spam. With the 3 explorer card in treaty, and with another card, u get 3, 3k hp explorers and a 2k hp dog that take no time to train, cost 100g and have no unit tag(so skirms, cav cannot counter them). Just run them up to the enemies skirm mass, they will handily distract the skirms and goons into attacking the 3k hp explorer that can be trained again instantly. This has been proven by the GOAT Floko83 of Treaty with the insightful comment: Explorer spam>all civs.

    A few assorted questions

    Posted: 09 Aug 2020 07:03 PM PDT

    • Does the game have uncapped frame rate? If so, is there any engine issues running it above 60? I'm currently running vsync @60. Would this cause compatibility issues during multiplayer?

    • I typically get a consulate up pretty early as the Japanese, and managing it is a vital part of my play and build orders. However, in my experience playing the chinese, it's barely an afterthought for late game trickles/factories/etc. Should you aim to get a consulate out early for the other asian civs? If so, when?

    • Market upgrades are worth it, but is it worth putting some villagers on wood/coin early game to get hunting dogs early for example? Or should you just get them "when you can"?

    • Likewise, if you're like 100 wood off a TP start, is it worth chopping wood for one? Despite games going on for well over 20 minutes I don't see TPs utilized as often and as much as I feel they should, for the benefit they give

    • Timings and build orders are a huge part of competitive play that I see references to very often. However, it's rare that things go so smoothly in practice. You might get extra treasures that allow for deviation, or you mismicro, or you get raided and can't get an XYZ villager ageup or distribution. How should you go about accounting for these differences in practice and in theory?

    • Does selecting all the little posts in the wall to delete (only leaving the big wall sections up) cause gaps? Perhaps it's my poor walling technique, but i've found that it won't actually give you a foolproof gap without the corner sections if the corner would have been touching a map edge/object.

    Thank you
