    Retasking villager loosing resources before they reach new resource bug is back.

    This was fixed with release of DE and is now broken again for the 3rd? time.

    Be carefull not to missclick your boar vills on a tree before dropping off the food even if the tree is far away the resources are lost right away.

    Critical Wheelbarrow/Hand Cart bug in DE that has been in the game as far as May (possibly longer)

    I discovered recently while browsing the age of empires bug report forums, that there is a bug report about wheelbarrow, which was under the radar and undiscovered by most people, but could actually be huge.

    It seems that when Wheelbarrow and Hand Cart finishes research, villagers that were already working as Farmers the moment it researched DON'T receive the move speed bonus until you interrupt them and re-task them, or until the farm is rebuilt. additional info: I tested, auto farm reseed or normal reseed or a town bell or a force garrison or any kind of stop and re-task, fixes the speed. But it's still a huge issue nevertheless, meaning your first round of farmers are always gonna be slightly slower, and people are gonna have to consciously re-task their vills to increase their farming speed. This also means sometimes people are punished for researching horse collar 11 since the farms last longer. But the problem is even bigger issue that can happen with Hand Cart, since people usually research Hand Cart with higher number of vills and farms, so can be a issue that goes well into the lategame.

    This actually has a big impact on competitive play since usually most players will construct 8-15 farms before even researching wheelbarrow. So let's say you have 15 farmers, and research wheelbarrow, those 15 villagers don't receive the full benefit of wheelbarrow until you tell them to Stop in place and re-task them (or until you force drop or reseed the farm).

    This is quite an unneeded farming penalty for no reason. And also might be the reason Vikings were so strong these past few tournaments. The reason is because Vikings receive free Wheelbarrow once they reach Feudal Age, they make all of their farms before wheelbarrow hits. This bug also gives a boost to Khmer imo, since their vills don't care much about move speed.

    I went into scenario editor to test this. Made 2 mills very separate from each other, and 3 farms near each mill. I placed 6 vills (1 on each farm) to stand idle.

    I started researching Wheelbarrow at the TC, and I paused the game when wheelbarrow was at 99%. During that time, I told 3 of the 6 vills to start farming. Then I unpaused the game. Immediately after wheelbarrow finished researching (1-2 seconds) I paused again and tasked the other 3 villagers to start farming. Then I unpaused and let them farm.

    The results confirmed the bug report. The 2 vills that started farming after wheelbarrow finished researching, finished their farmers substantially faster than the villagers who started 2 seconds earlier. When the 1st villagers in the after-wheelbarrow group finished his farm, this is how much food was left on the other farms.

    When the first villager(the one that was closest to mill) of the ones that started after-wheelbarrow emptied his farm. I stopped and compared amounts of food left.

    Vills that started work 2 seconds before wheelbarrow:

    15+14+17 = 46 Food Left out of 525 food (3 farms)

    Vills that started work 1 seconds after wheelbarrow:

    0+4+11 = 15 Food Left out of 525 food (3 farms)

    Idk why this wasn't a priority to fix, when even one of the community managers commented around 1-2 months ago that the bug is already fixed and awaiting to be pushed with an update.

    Brand new player here from Starcraft 2, excited

    My RTS history pretty much consists of Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 2-3. I'm looking forward to this because I see some vague similarities.

    I know I should do the William Wallace campaign first, but I'm wondering which ones to do after this? I want to progress as smoothly as possible...

    Byzantine, Magyars, and others

    Are you guys happy with the new arabia?

    I personally really like it.

    I used to be a player that would turn arabia into palisade arena, and i still try to full wall with this new map gen, but i have gotten used to more agressive and open maps where you have to fight for map control and be smart about how you wall and defend.

    I do agree with what spirit of the law said in his new video, in that it would be a good idea to have 2 map variations in the map pool, desert arabia (this new open one) and green arabia (old more wallable arabia).

    Also i wanted to ask if anybody knows if this is the same arabia that is used in Kotd3

    Campaign bug

    For the previous two months or so, going back to the map after winning a campaign scenario would result in the ending cutscene not being shown. Now they don't even give you the option anymore. It just says "continue" without viewing the map. This is hardly an improvement. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

    Why is TG rating so inconsistent ?

    For ex. I am around 1000 in 1v1 and 1400 in TG but some player with 1V1 ELO 800 is at TG ELO 1500, while someone with 1v1 1200 rating is only 1400 TG. Heck, i have even played with someone who was 700 1v1 and 1700 TG ELO.

    Although TG and 1v1 are different. There is definitely a large skill difference here. I am not sure if such inconsistency occurs at higher/lower ELO. But in my ELO range, i have seen so much difference. And it makes for such unfair games a lot of times.

    Hardest on Conquerors?

    Hi all,

    As a fan of aoe 2 im glad a community like this exists. Alright so i only have the conquerors xp. I have heard the ai has been changed a lot since then so i would like to ask if theres a youtube video on how to defeat Hardest on random map?

    Would this Hardest be easier or harder than the updated Hardest? I actually managed to beat this classic hardest today lol...for the first time (though I paused the game a lot of times to micro). What are the differences? I saw that this old hardest actually starts with higher resources.
