    AOE3 DE is great but it is an absolutely huge game file in terms of storage. I play on a mac using bootcamp and i have had to reformat my hard drive every freakin update because they always add like 10 gb worth of extra stuff.

    Can someone please ask the devs to update the files for efficiency? I don't know how to get their attention but they are surely losing out on potential players due to this!

    Snare balancing

    I would really like to see snare balanced better. Instead of snaring all it should snare a split of the group. Seeing Chimus decimate because of no snare shows the possibility. It is honestly one thing I really hate about this game. Infantry are stupidly slow and without a forced march it just makes things worse. I do think a force march with a stamina bar might be cool.

    Now I do understand this is a HUGE change, but maybe start small by making snare select a certain number of units around the target so that the whole is not affected. This would allow for some more movement. I find that whole groups get decimated when in real war some on the edges would scatter or counter. It just seems like an arbitrary limitation for no real reason. Then I saw they added the charge with the caroleans and I thought why can't all musketeers charge since that was one reason for the bayonet.

    Thoughts?

    Note:

    It wasn't mentioned in the patch note, but Carolean & Bolas Warrior lost the specific damage bonus against Rattan Shield. (They are now Hand Shock Inf so this is ok)

    Carolean's range attack lost x0.67 damage penalty against Rifle Rider. It still has x1.5 vs H.Cav (which Rifle Rider is), so now Carolean is BETTER against Rifle Rider.

    Game crashes when I try to stream game on Discord

    Has anyone been experiencing this? Has been like that for many patches.

    On discord when I click Stream Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, the game crashes immediately. No warnings or errors, just vanishes from main monitor.

    Can’t figure out mods

    I subscribed to 3 mods and restarted the game as instructed. Whenever I started a new skirmish none of the mods were working. I tried unsunscribing and resuscribing but not dice. Am I that much of an idiot? Lol, need some help.

    Despite seeing little to no play in the most recent tournament, Sweden got hit very hard by recent nerfs. Not a few light nerfs, but a significant nerf. While the civ was strong compared to civs like Russia or China, this was likely an over-reaction.

    Torps cost more, can fit less on a mine, spawn less food, gather coin slower, and blueberries is dead(new torps no longer spawn blueberries, you have to build before sending it instead).

    Caroleans are substantially weaker in late game. Worse multipliers, worse range.

    Manor boom or shrine boom provides more resources faster, is more flexible than torps, establishes map control, and can't be pressured as easily.

    Japan's ashigaru are so much better than post-nerf Caroleans in the late game and so are Imperial Redcoats/Longbows.

    How do I survive cannons as Japanese?

    As the title says. Last night I was playing with friends. We're pretty new to the game btw. In late game I had a lot of musketeers and a couple of flaming arrows. But then one of my friends who played as Spain just steamrolled over my army with a lot of heavy cannons and some cavalry. How do I counter this in the future? I really like the to play Japanese so preferably a tactic with them.

    Has the Strength of the Playerbase Declined in DE?

    One of the theories back before DE was that new players struggled to stay in the game because most people in multiplayer were playing for years so the average skill was artificially high. I've just played a handful (four) multiplayer games for the first time on DE and it just got me wondering if people still believed this or if the experience of DE has caused people to abandon the idea.

    p.s. is waiting four minutes in QS for a rated game usual?

    EDIT: I just discovered you can check the ELOs of the people you've played against. The best of those first four was about 900.

    Supremacy Trainer Ai Update for Legacy Tad

    likely one of the last updates to this ai, it fixes some card/ aggression/ army comp/ economic issues. euro and iro civs will build a wall eventually, ai reliably goes imperial on expert before 30 minutes with maxed eco pop, and ai will attack and defend aggressively, seeking out forward bases to destroy if it threatens them.

    ai also now progresses from 2 falconets to 3 horse guns to 5 horse guns in age3/4/5. disabled custom attack code in favor of modified default code, disabled merc recruitment, and disabled messages to allies informing of current unit it plans to train. campaign handicap is 50% easy, 100% normal, 150% hard.

    multiplayer compatible, only host needs file. like all online ai games if host leaves match ai script stops working.

    Is there a way to get blood in the definitive version? I can't find a mod anywhere, and I can't enjoy this game without the option of blood.
