| Durch revolting and ageing to 5 in 40 min Treaty Posted: 05 Jan 2021 01:41 AM PST so yesterday i played vs someone with dutch. He was revolting and i thought what a troll until 40 minutes ended and he had imperial upgrades on his units. His age up to 5 AFTER he revolted was never shown in the chat. he was saving all his shipments until he revolted. while he revolted he had age 5 in queue already when the revolt was done, age 5 was starting to develop so in the end he had all the eco from his revolt (south africa) and still all imperial upgrades from age 5 is that intended or is that a cheat? https://ibb.co/nQbWxxf screenshots [link] [comments] | ||

| Free for All Matches - politics Posted: 04 Jan 2021 08:39 PM PST Ive been an age of empires 3 fan for years! I just play by myself and it's fun and all but recently I've watched some of SamuraiRevolution's videos (he's great!!) and some of the free for all tournaments. I'm really interested reading the comments on there. About a year ago there was a tournament and Spongebob (Teal lol) won a semifinal match by basically mastering politics. He was attacked very early by Blue Russians, and as a result everyone went after Blue. Teal Spongebob kept trying to pit people against each other and call for help, and it worked! I'm confused by people saying it and "dirty" and "undeserved." I think a lot of my views are shaped by the reality TV show Survivor. Survivor is all about social politics and getting people to do your bidding, whether it's true or not. Often times, the "best player" isn't the winner; the winner uses politics the best and mitigates their threat level to get ahead. It seems similar to Age of Empires! But is that common? Is that expected here? I agree it wasn't the "classiest" approach but hey it was clever and they got the win in the end. Blue made the first big move to take someone out and as a result, he got 3 v -1ed. I'd love to hear more serious players thoughts and all! [link] [comments] | ||

They use the same lines as the Coureur but in femine form (chasseuse vs chasseur) and with a female voice [link] [comments] | ||

I played a couple matches against the AI, and noticed from the postgame summary that sometimes the AI can have a total population of 250. For one of the occurrences, the AI was Queen Elizabeth, and there were no native settlements on the map, so I don't think they were native fighters. I see here that the max population can be increased to 250 with cards. I tried reading all of the British cards, but I don't see one that increase total population. Can anyone explain this to me? | Controlling Sweden - A Balance Proposal Posted: 04 Jan 2021 06:52 AM PST Following all the "love" my recent post just received, an idea occurred to me. The affordability and durability of torps compared to their return-on-investment is one of the most hot-button issues with Swedes (that & Caroleans). Now, since the devs aren't going to remove torps or their ability to gather, and decreasing that gather rate by too much poses its own problems, why not just do the following - decrease their "placeability" (<that's a totally a word, fight me bro!). But in all seriousness, if the radius with which one torp could be placed in comparison to another was increased to the degree that only 2 could be placed on a single mine, Swedish players would have much more difficulty reaching their Fast Industrial timings and the economy they do achieve so early in the game, forcing them expand far more aggressively, requiring double the mines (10 instead of 5) to reach maximum income. Of course, a Swedish player could ship the x2 prospector card in Age II and the x3 prospector card in Age III to get the five extra torps within or behind their base, but even this prevents them sending other eco/upgrade cards that would otherwise be sent in that Age. Very curious if this has already been discussed, if so I'd love to read the original discussion. If not, what does the community think? [link] [comments] | ||

Ik they going to come at me with uhlans but I cant seem to ever age up fast enough to have a sizable force ready. What is the ideal strategy to defend against this? I have also faced lots of early aggression from british and aztec and I have more success against that because I can just spam yumi, but when I need to make musks and yumi (since the german player will make crossbows), I fall apart. Ive tried making an early stable as well but my economy starts to hurt beacuse the uhlans destroy my shrines [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 04 Jan 2021 04:50 AM PST I have been playing Portugal a lot on ranked, but i have trouble maintaining a good eco on fortress age, and it seems im always low on resources.I always try to go FF, age up with 500 food, then send 700 gold 700 wood cards, then 6 cass, or fast age up depending on the oponent. Problem is i usually get slowed down on fortress, mostly due to forgetting to pump villagers out when the fighting starts (wish i had better artillery shipment on fortress age). How many vills should i have on fortress age? Any tips on how i should manage my eco? [link] [comments] | ||
