How to play halb/siege as Slavs?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 12:02 AM PST

Is there an example I could watch for?

I'm trying out some new options as I've been only playing knights and archers. Is it a hard composition? Seems like a lot of micro!

Do I just keep swarming the halbs around my siege (im guessing rams and onagers?) So no horses can get to them? And try to snipe archers or skirms with onager? What happens when the other team has champions? Do I switch to hussars? What do I do best versus eagle scouts?

A lot of questions, sorry about that. But want to learn the combo!

    Thank you!

    Post non-serious civ ideas

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 08:32 AM PST

    Civ: Florida

Aggressive animals are edible like deer. (Especially gators)

Units move 20 percent faster on marsh and shore tiles

Villagers gather 5 percent faster from all resources

Unique techs: Drunk Driving- Ram speed attack and armor increased per villager garrisoned inside

Methamphetamine: all idle villagers converted to Florida Man, but will never work again. Houses can produce Florida Man, and explode when destroyed, dealing splash damage.

Unique unit: Florida Man 100food 40 gold High armor infantry unit. Deals fire damage like fire ship with can of bug spray and lighter.

How to deal with players who bully

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 05:23 AM PST

Some players when you lose game say you noob or say that they always wins against you or you suck. This feels bad and I feel like uninstalling game.

    Thoughts on the Byzantines?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 02:34 AM PST

Ever since definitive, hell ever since the expansions, it feels like the Byzantines have kinda been left in the dirt. They (to my knowledge) have remained largely unchanged (in terms of tech and bonuses) bar the logistica price drop.

I just fell that in today's meta they sorta lack in well every area. They are a jack of all trades civ but the Chinese, who share this identity, are top tier due to their great eco and uu throughout the game whereas the Byzantines only feel strong in the late game but even then I feel civs like the Lithuanians are more focused and as such are just better.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: for 1v1 mainly

    Campaign for beginners

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 06:09 AM PST

I'm trying to get into this game after playing AoE3 for a while, and have found people on here really helpful - thanks everyone!

I was just wondering which campaign is best for a new player to start with (not including the tutorial)? Something easy to get used to the basics a bit more.

Is there a website with a list of all AOE related tools and sites?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 05:26 AM PST

I've come across some really helpful websites and tools for AOE here, https://aoestats.io/ https://aoecompanion.com/ to name a few.

Does anybody know if there is a site or wiki that lists tools/resources for AOE?

What’s your best Feudal and Castle time?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 03:59 AM PST

Just wondering where I fall really compared to other players. I've been practising for hours trying to get as fast as possible. My best is 9:30 for feudal and 15:10 for castle age. I think that's pretty average though. I'm still learning where all the hot keys are at the moment though.

What's your best times? And how long have you been playing for etc? 🙂

    Double Bulgarian!?

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 10:35 PM PST

So I have been playing age of empires with a friend and we have been going double Bulgarian on arena 2v2 and since we have done this we have not lost a game on arena. Going for a fast castle, then kreposts we can mostly lock one person into a base and double team the other while and get lots of 2v1 battles, limiting their trade while enabling ours...and the stone bonus on TCs allow cheaper easier boom while doing this.

So I have got a few questions.

1.why do more people not use this strategy?

    1. How do you overcome this if you come up against it?

    2. If more than one person has the same civ do bonuses stack?

4.does anyone else team up with the same civ as their ally, if so what civ and why?

Is there an all around worst civ on AOE2?

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 10:53 PM PST

I get that every civ can be good in certain situations. But I'm talking about a civ that just isn't overly powerful on land, water, in 1v1 or team games, etc. like one that just isn't the best in most situations.

I guess I'm asking that if there was one civ that you just absolutely wouldn't touch in a ranked game on any map what would it be and why?

20 years and TC now cant rally on boar

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 08:06 AM PST

I've been playing AOE2 for 20 years and I could always just right click the boar and it would automatically send a villager to the boar. Now when I right click the boar it says "boar is too far away to attack"
WTF, there are no vills garrisoned, and there's absolutely no way i'm going to learn to hotkey the rally point...
I have tried resetting all the hotkeys and changing to different hotkey set ups. Can anyone please help me revert the game back to how it was???? Thanks in Advance
