    Observer in RBW3

    After the first weekend of RBW3, which had some really great games, it seems like the only downside was the way that the tournament was presented to viewers. Red Bull decided to have the on-screen gameplay be captured by an observer rather than one of the casters.

    I can see why they might have chosen this route; other E-sports have dedicated observers that they use for all of their games/tournaments, such as League of Legends, DotA 2, or CSGO. The difference between those and AoE2 is that on both LoL and DotA2, the casters watch the observers screen and shoutcast from that, and in CSGO the casters will cast based off of the players POV, switching between POV. In all cases, these games have much less for the observer to focus on (LoL and DotA have 10 champs, so you have a maximum of 5 places where action can happen) and POV focus for FPS games really narrows how much there is to focus on.

    Compare that to what we saw over the weekend with RB3 using an observer; In AoE2 (or RTS in general) there are a lot more areas to focus on simultaneously. It was also clear that the observer was listening to the casters and from there panning around the map to the action, so from the casters->observers brain->observers input->viewers was a pretty clear delay, which was bad to watch. So that either means RB should have the casters cast using the onscreen observer capture, which I don't think would be popular as the observer was clearly not an experienced AoE2 player, or they give the casters the camera and allow them to cast as usual. (ie they could have a main caster whose screen would be the one shown on stream, rotating through the casters)

    Fix Lag AoE2 HD in Linux?

    I'm playing AoE2 HD on Linux and I'm having 18-20 fps and I've already turned off 3D rendering of water and VSync but it didn't work, are there any other ways to fix the fps?

    Leavers and reporting

    This is becoming more and more annoying, there is a leaver in almost every lobby. Why do people leave all the time? And does reporting help at all (because its bugged for me now and I have to restart game)?

    Its certainly not always a connection issue, some seem to ragequit, for example when their villagers got killed after trying to wall in near enemies TC. When you can't deal with losing them just wall safe.

    When they've fast castled and you're still skirmishing with the enemy flank in Feudal.

    They basically shred/ignore my towers.

    Mid-Elo Empire Wars Tournament

    For those higher mid-elo players who would like to participate in some competitive empire wars, we are hosting a mini tourney with an empire wars ruleset on our discord. If you are under ~1550 then the tourney is open to you. It will be relatively small and we will split into divisions based off the elo of players signing up, so even if you are 1100 or 1200 there will be a spot for you.     How do you deal with imp raids?

    Hey I'm kinda new to this game and I'm confused about a lot in imperial. Do you let a part of your army in your base to defend against late game raids? So late in the game the walls don't really protect you anymore and the enemy is in your eco in seconds. What is the best you can do against it except for also raiding

    azetec champion 8 sec 4 hits = 84 japanese champion 5 hits in 8 sec so 85 dam in 8 seconds

    azetec:84 divided 4 21 divided 2 =10.5 dps Japanese: 85 divided 4 =21.25 also divided=10.565

    Japenese champion is better than azetec champion with garland wars
