Hello everyone! We got some big news here!

Introducing Hera's Colosseum - Hidden Cup Edition! This is a league for players of all levels with this current iteration centered on the Hidden Cup 4 maps.
The objective of this league is to create an opportunity for participants to experience ongoing top level AOE2 tournament settings in a friendly competitive environment in order to encourage one another to grow as individual players.
Download the HC4 Map Mod here: https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/20626

    Attack move or Patrol?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 01:36 AM PST

This is an aspect of the game I haven't been using nearly as much as I should. The upside of this is I haven't trained my fingers to do one or the other, so I can choose.

Obviously the benefit of attack move is if your units don't bump into anything, they don't walk all the way back to where they started.

I know a lot of pros use patrol and I know at least part of the reason for that is they played thousands of games before attack move existed, so they're just used to it.

But since I'm just starting to use this and I can choose, should I go with attack move? I've heard rumours of bugginess and inferior pathing but I don't know if there's any substance to them.

So we recently started playing ranked Team Games and we were wondering what good Team Combs are. What are your favorit ones? What makes them so good?

    Burgundian Question

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 05:38 AM PST

So this civ seems overpowered. What am I missing that's a big weakness to them?

I played several games with them, noticed that they can easily generate gold and food, ended up with huge surpluses of both, took advantage of their early economy techs, and was able to field a massive army fairly quickly. Sure, they seem to be missing some military tech, like bloodlines, but their ability to constantly generate gold and food makes it feel like they can use gold and food units for way longer before going to trash units (if they ever do). Basically, it seems like I don't have to care about missing out on bloodlines when my civ produces so much gold and food that I can keep making paladins long after my opponent can't.

What weakness am I overlooking? Burgundians can't be this strong.

If mounting/dismounting was possible, which UU would you give a mount, or dismount?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 12:56 AM PST

Example: Cavalry Huskarls that does bonus damage to archers, Dismounted Cataphracts etc. Which do you think would be great for the civ?

PS: If you say Konnik I'll break your kneecaps.

Why does TC keep shooting boars after ungarrison?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 07:49 AM PST

The situation: Im luring the boar with a low hp villager, my tc is garrisoned with vills shooting the boar, then I ungarrison the vills from the tc and atack the boar, finally I garrison the low HP vill and the tc instantly shoots the boar.

Is this intended behaviour or a bug? Shouldn't the tc forget atacking the boar after ungarrison?

    Thanks!

    Sorry for bad english.
