Posted: 02 May 2021 04:04 AM PDT We have a fair idea of Vipers personality - I would say there is a low chance Viper would promote a pyramid scheme, knowing it was a pyramid scheme. That video was so dumb, and everyone in Vipers chat always ranting about bit coin, doge coin, that coin, he clearly thought that cryptos were normal investment vehicles as he would respond back about them but obviously didn't really understand them himself. The scammer guy clearly convinced Viper it was good and Viper fell for it, what I don't understand is did Viper not consult professionals or Nili or someone who could have warned him or done an ounce of research ? As they say don't put down to maliciousness what can be perfectly explained by stupidity. As even if Viper thought this was not a scam, he clearly didn't even consider the risk of the coin just naturally going south and all the buyers losing their money anyway and hating him- EITHER WAY this was just such a dumb idea he must have been led astray. EDIT What the fuck am I talking about: https://old.reddit.com/r/aoe2/comments/n2uzcv/warning_a_reputable_member_of_this_community/ EDIT2: Some people enjoy seeing successful people slip up because it makes them feel better about their own failings. Do prefer to be defenceive or aggressive player ? Posted: 02 May 2021 01:03 AM PDT Hi guys I just wondered . What other people prefer to do ? I am more of the guy who likes to give first punch 😉 And keep fight away form my base . Sometimes it does work other times I not able to do damage and I am falling behind to some who defends well and out boom me . I not to argue what strat is better ( well executed one 11 ) I am rather just interested in your Preferences in game. Thanks for input Aoe2 community ! [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2021 07:03 AM PDT I just played a few games with Standard victory and built a wonder. The moderate AI didn't react to it at all and just kept sending a trickling stream of units instead of amassing for a single push. Is this normal behaviour or should I raise the difficulty? Can anyone take a look at this BO? Posted: 02 May 2021 03:45 AM PDT So it's called 8MAA at 10Min BO I'm 1k3 elo , and a few times I've managed to surprise my enemies with a bunch of militias in early game. Dark Age: - 6 sheeps - 5 forest - 1 lure boar + house - 3 berries - 1 build barrack and go to build houses/walling/berries, start making 8 militias - 2 gold (1 for Aztecs) without mining camp - 1 on boar - 3 forest (2nd camp) - make ~15 farms and build mine camp on gold (or do it early) - Loom - click up to feudal (~pop 31) On the way up: - Feudal Age - militia upgrade (if militias managed to survive) - blacksmith + range/stable - 4 to gold (6 overall) or to smth else, depends on situation - click up to Castle Age [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2021 06:56 AM PDT Hi all, a few weeks ago I saw on a stream a combat simulator where one can input any unit of DE with any upgrade and measure it against another unit. The simulation gives the number of hits to kill and the HP left. Unfortunately I cannot find this simulator and the streamer lost it as well! I found on google some simulators but surprisingly, none does that (at least not for DE). Does anyone have a link to this simulator or another one that does the same thing? Thx! Do You Define ELO As Your Skill Level Or The Skill Level Of Your Opponents? Posted: 02 May 2021 05:49 AM PDT I was watching a streamer play the other day that was only playing one strategy. They went up around a 100 elo or so over the course of the stream and people in chat were getting hyped that they had improved so much. This got me wondering how people define elo. As an extreme example, if someone rated at 1200 only plays Arabia and Inca vill rushes every game, can they really be be considered a 1200 player, or is that just the level at which they play? The difference to me is that if you take a player like that and put a then in a different situation (playing a different map or different civ) they would likely lose. If they never got to play Inca vill rush their rating would decrease significantly. A true 1200 skill player would be able to maintain that rating across different maps, playing different civs and strategies. I don't think it's wrong to only play one civ, strat or map. Just curious how people think about elo and how they define their own elo. Should it be a true measure of your overall skill? Or just a rating of the level that you're currently playing (a measure of the skill of your opponents)? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 May 2021 10:54 PM PDT I purchased aoe2 definitive edition on steam. Now if I just purchase lords of the west, will those campaigns be unlocked in my game? Sorry if this question is a little amateurish, but I am not too familiar with playing games on a platform like steam. [link] [comments]

What Does Your ELO Actually Mean? Posted: 02 May 2021 08:41 AM PDT Hey everyone, ~900 ELO player here. I just got into playing ranked 1v1 and am having a blast (you know, with the usual peaks and valleys - at one point I had a 7-game losing streak which felt *GREAT*). However I'm noticing that the actual quality of people I'm facing at various ELOs doesn't seem very consistent. I had matches against 950 ELOs who played without walls or even Loom well into Castle, and matches against 850 ELOs with near-flawless micro and aggression. So is there a breakdown of what your ELO actually says about your ability as a player? Say, something like this (clearly outdated) ranking here: https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe2/comments/2d9uhl/breakdown_of_the_skill_levels_by_elo_rating_steam/ [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2021 02:01 AM PDT I could not afford to destroy purple and gray because of green shoving units up my ***. Managed to survive with one badly damaged castle left. How did you survive the onslaught? My navy got wiped out pretty quickly. If purple and gray are defeated, what difference will it make? [link] [comments]

is it just me or is the current map rotation just wall in and wait maps? Posted: 02 May 2021 06:56 AM PDT Seems like the only thing people do is creating a few military buildings, houses then palisades in between then wait then the same 5 civs, britons, franks, ethiopians mongols or mayans I can start to see why they will go for 8 in Aoe4, no one plays like 10-15 of what's there anyway. Can't remember when I played Portugese or Chinese or Berbs last time [link] [comments]

Share your ideas for future/made up civ bonuses and UUs. Posted: 02 May 2021 04:53 AM PDT I thought it would be fun to think of ideas for future or speculative civ bonuses. They could be for some particular civ or none in particular just an idea you think would be cool and could at least potentially be implemented in a balanced way (no cobra car UU replacing the scout line). I'll start: Villager wagon: UU which is more expensive than a regular villager, requiring something like 70 food and 40 wood, but is faster, with a higher work rate and capacity. Requires 50 seconds of training time. Civ would spawn with two of them but 100 less food than normal. Takes some time to pack and unpack when gathering or working, but need not unpack when dropping off, and doesn't move while unpacked. Will automatically migrate between farms to try to maximize the gather rate. HP without loom: 40. Base speed: 1.25. Base attack: 6. Base work rate: 2x villager work rate. Base capacity: 4x villager capacity. Benefits from husbandry and bloodlines, meaning it can become very quick and very tough for a villager. Vulnerable to anti-cavalry and anti-seige unit bonus damage though. Homestead: Unique Building. To a TC what Kreposts are to castles. Can create villagers and garrison up to 10 of them but cannot shoot arrows and cannot research new techs or ages. Acts as a mill and lumber camp combination but does not work as a mining camp. Takes 120 seconds to construct but can only be built by up to 2 villagers at a time. Costs 175 wood and 25 stone. Is 3x3 making it very AESTHETIC for farming. Available in castle age. Pasture: 6x6 flat Unique Building which costs 100 wood and takes 50 seconds for a villager to build. Spawns a pair of sheep when built which begin working in the pasture. Can train sheep for 10 wood. Training rate is faster the more sheep are tasked to work in the pasture. With no sheep, the pasture cannot train sheep. With one sheep, it takes 150 seconds to make a new sheep. each subsequent sheep increases the work rate in inverse proportion to how many sheep there are. So if there's 5, that would be 228.33% speed, or 65.7 seconds train time. Can also train guard dogs for 10 food in 15 seconds (training rate not affected by sheep count). Guard dogs have identical stats to a wolf or a villager without loom. Villagers will not automatically kill sheep that are working, so if you want villagers to automatically kill the newly created sheep, set their father point somewhere else. Other herdables may also be tasked to work in a pasture and perhaps eventually a unique tech would allow the training of cows instead. Barter economy: Civ Bonus. Can trade any resource in the market directly for any other at the equivalent ratio with only one payment of the commodity trading fee. Trade carts and trade cogs can be tasked to generate resources other than gold and do so at the exact market rate, with no commodity fee applied. Boarding parties: Civ Bonus. +2 transport capacity to ALL ships per age. Ships may convert other ships at melee range at a rate based on the combined anti-infantry attack of non-seige units onboard vs the current (not max) health of the ship. Units can move between your own ships on water. Urban Fortifications. Unique Tech. Houses can fire arrows as though they were a TC garrisoned with one villager, with a range of 5 tiles unaffected by upgrades, making them highly effective "defensive" buildings. 500 food and 250 stone. Peasant Militia: Civ Bonus. Villagers may permanently convert to either skirmisher or spearman line units. The transformation takes 5 seconds. Woodsman: Unique unit that can be trained at a barracks from feudal age. Can attack at both melee and ranged. Can attack trees and cut through them, though somewhat slowly. Shorter range and damage than an archer but high rate of fire. Base HP is 40 and base attack is 2, but fire rate is 1.5 with very low frame delay. Melee attack is 4 with the same short delay. Costs 45 food and 25 gold. Saboteur: UU which appears to enemies to be one of their units (it has a UI to select what type). If selected, it will show that the disguised unit icon, but if individual stats are read, it will show that it is in fact a saboteur. Attacking the unit undisguises it. Has a melee attack. If disguised, this attack does 50 damage and 250 bonus damage against buildings. Otherwise it does 5 damage with no anti-building bonus. Attacking reveals the disguise. If the unit leaves line of sight, it will be disguised again. 40 HP. 25 food and 75 gold. Cash crops: Civ Bonus. 20% of farm output comes as gold instead of food. Farms work 5% faster and villagers gather 5% faster from farms. What are your ideas? [link] [comments]
