| Cool alternatives for crossbow/knight in 2v2 Posted: 02 Aug 2021 02:54 AM PDT Hi all Since I see everyone is doing the same unit composition in 2v2 I came up with some fun alternatives that are still viable. You don't have to go scout/archers and knight/crossbow all the time.
We are around ELO 2350 Team Random Map and have gotten decent (50%+) win rates with all of them. Even if they are on paper less good, you can surprise your opponents most of the time which certainly makes up for that. I hope some of you will get some fun out of this. | DE campaigns voice acting sucks Posted: 01 Aug 2021 10:22 PM PDT I've always enjoyed playing the campaigns (been playing them since the age of Kings days), the stories are so epic and just knowing that it all actually happened somewhere a couple centuries ago gives you the chills. I tried to start on them again in DE but the voice acting and even the visuals just seem so.... lackluster. It all feels rushed, they're skipping over the story to get to the gameplay. I really wish they hadn't changed the style because the campaigns now just feel meaningless and empty, I might as well just stick to multiplayer. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 01 Aug 2021 03:33 PM PDT I've been inspired to try something new for my next few ladder games. Proxy barracks and 10+ militia right on their face. Unlike a normal MaA build you will need to place villagers on gold in the dark age. What are the best civs and build orders for this? What are the most important resources to disrupt? What are the best followups if your all in fails? I can't promise that this strat will be any good, but it will produce memorable games. Goths and Portuguese for less gold required for units. Inca and Korean for the ready tower follow-up. You already have a forward villager. Celt, Burmese, Malian, etc. For the stronger MaA in the next age? Drastic things like palisades cost 3 wood instead of 2, knights creation speed increased, crossbow upgrade more expensive and changes like that? Is this likely? Posted: 02 Aug 2021 07:27 AM PDT As all of you know that at the release of DE the Cumans were the best civ in the game with their insane bonuses at the release, but they are now in the worst 5 civs in the game. However, I really think that the Kipchak nerfs were too much to be done at once, the Kipchak now literally the worst ranged unit in the game and the weakest one, when the devs nerfed this unit, they nerfed it at 4 sides at once, they nerfed the ROF to 2.2 which too high for a ranged unit, yeah it was 1.8 at the release but making it 2.2 is too much, the hp too got a nerf, frame delay got a nerf, they are literally the worst horse archer in the game, yeah they are cheap but still, the unit is too weak and need some tweaks. IMO at least the Kipchak ROF should be down to 2.0 (like the normal CA) instead of 2.2, the base attack should be 5 (6 Elite) instead if 4, 5 especially with the lack of bracer. In general the Cumans now is just one of the worst civs in the game, and IMO they lack of military options more than the eco options, they have nothing special for their military except their 5% more speed over any other civ, their range is bad with the lack of bracer, no supplies for barracks to their militia line and their camels have no heavy camel upgrade, tbf, the civ is one of the most boring civs to play with, alongside with Malay, Italians, Sicilians, Burmese and Portuguese. We each have the same mode on our computers. We can both use them in single player and they work properly. Is it possible to use this data mod in multiplayer?
