    Probably a stupid question, but. Is AoE2 the most populated AoE game available on steam?

    I was playing the technical test over the last couple days and fell in love with the game all over again. I want to purchase one of the games to keep me occupied until the release of AoE4. Is the multiplayer on this game decently populated? Or is AoE3 more populated?

    Also, will I need to purchase the DLCs to play online? Or just the DE?

    The only thing that bugged me during RBW5…

    …was the players' fashion sense.

    Clearly a lighthearted critique but nevertheless.

    It seems, the players had four distinct looks to choose from - just gotten out of bed - Adidas Training pants for life - I'm headed to the (Heidelberg) beach - a mix of the above + a GL T-shirt

    It is an official tournament, a formal event, the hosts, extras, etc all dressed up for the occasion.

    I guess it's the culture but a smartly dressed player would have killed it style wise.

    Age of empires 2 (2013).... Black screen with music and mouse pointer after the intro video

    Hi everybody I need your help for an issue I'm not able to solve by myself.

    I've bought AoE2 (2013) on STEAM, running on Ubuntu 20.04, on a laptop with 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Integrated Graphics Controller (4th generation).

    The game starts, the intro and the music works fine, then ... nothing. Black screen with music of the starting screen and the pointer active (if you click you obtain an effect, even the supposed starting of a campaign, according to the audio that is played).

    If you click the mouse or the Esc button during the intro, the screen of the intro freeze and you can hear the same music and get the same effects described above.

    I've looked around and found several hints to solve this problem. Unfortunately none of them worked.

    1-set the resolution to 1024x768

    2- renamed the launcher file and subsituted it with the AOE HD file

    I've also read that this problem was solved by someone with a downgrade of the driver of the NVIDIA, but I was not able to do the same on my Intel Graphics (and I don't know if this can cause some other side effects).

    Can anybody help me?

    Your Favorite RBW 5 Moments and Quotes (Spoliers)

    RBW 5 was such an incredible event and I have fallen in love with the LAN tournament format. The absolute climax of the event was The Viper reclaiming his throne and finally earning the coveted title of RBW Champion! However, there were many more heartwarming moments, brutal roasts, German dad jokes, Riley Knight 1-liners, and all around shenanigans throughout the event that made the tournament truly special and one of the most fun aoe2 tournaments to watch of all time. What were some of your favorite quotes or moments during the tournament? I'll start:

    1). "You may have rented the whole seat, but today you are only going to need the edge of it!" - Riley Knight on the final day.

    2). The entire match between Dave and T90 with all of the roasting it entailed, but especially this one:

    Riley: "Slam, is the reflection off Dave's head too bright?" Slam: puts on sunglasses Riley: "Look, we obviously like to joke and laugh around here, but occupational health and safety is really important here" Me: 🤣

    (Bug?) Villager standing in foundation

    I have been experiencing what seems like a bug which makes the game nearly unplayable for me.

    I try to build a building, usually with shift click to put the villager back to work afterwards. But instead of building it the villager moves to the center of the foundation and in case of shift click back to work the villager moves away.

    Result: later I look and the villager is standing in the center of the foundation. Or in case of shift click it has moved back to work. Lost countless of games over this.

    Is this a known bug? Or do I do something wrong?

    It seems to happen mostly in teamgames when there is some lag.

    Skirmishers bonus damage against buildings

    I believe skirmishers have bonus damage against buildings. My towers have 9 Pierce armor, and walls 12. But skirmishers with 5 attack keep hitting 3 against Both. I cant find anything on the wiki about this. Would be a pretty usefull buff if this was added recently. It makes them a bit more usefull against other things than Archers

    How do different cultures feel about their civs?

    Something I've always been curious about is how different cultural groups perceive their civ and how it is represented in-game.

    For example, we know that Turkish people who play age tend to love their civ or even get a sense of pride from playing them. An example of this would be the Turkish guy who begged Hera to play Turks on stream the other day.

    So to other cultural groups—what do you think about your respective civs? Obviously, this message doesn't apply to Americans lmao.
