Is this an efficient way to stop being castle dropped on Arena? Posted: 25 Dec 2021 05:16 AM PST Disclaimer, I'm 1k elo, 1.4k TG So I've been castle dropped maybe 4/5 arena matches and can never stop them. Recently I've tried instead of just going full eco boom, I start pumping out archers and spearmen out of 1 range and 1 barracks the moment I click up to castle. By the time the first guy gets to castle age, I have a handful of either units to prepare for a castle drop attempt. Thing is however, when i have been doing that, castle drops attempts just don't happen lol. I'm guessing they spotted my barracks or my archers and decided to not do that. This effectively makes my army inefficient since it doesn't actually get to fight anything and delays my 3 TC boom. Is what I am doing wrong? Should I hide my barracks to bait a castle drop? What would you recommend to prevent a castle drop? [link] [comments] | ||

Fix to broken hotkeys of last patch Posted: 25 Dec 2021 05:27 AM PST I have recently switched to a new PC and ive noticed hotkeys were reset to old AoK hotkeys rather than the grid, its been bugging me and i tried many peoples suggestions in this sub fixing it but just today i could fix it. If youre encountering the same issue just delete your .hki file which is located in C:/Users/Username/Games/AOE2DE/some long ass number/profile After that go to steam, right click on DE from your library. Assuming I go full knights in castle age, what should I pair it with in Imperial Age assuming my opponent is Halbadier + their top unit. I'm not sure if Hand Cannon or Throwing Axeman is better. A transport ship you've already created then automatically picks the unit(s) up and drops them off at the destination. This build is based mainly on the Pala Empire & Bengal Sultanate before the Mughal Empire conquered them in mid 1500's. They were know for their maritime spice trade and unique Asian Cultures. BENGAL Elephant & Monk Civ •Berries & Shore Fish contain 50% more food Only applies to villagers gathering. •Farm upgrades give +1 carry to farmers The highly productive lands in the area made for high food and spice production. The early berry bonus delays farms setting your Eco up with extra upgrades that carry you into the late game. •Elephants attack 25% faster Effects all Elephant units including your UU's. Elephants were a focal point to the Bengal armies. (P.S. I would love to give them Elephant Archer also) •Monks give near by units +10% speed boosts Effects all Units within LOS of a monk (Excluded trade units) •Camels +1 attack & +1 range They lack the Knight-line to keep with the Indian Civ theme. I thought of adding a steppe lancer but think a Camel Lancer offers abit extra spice. UNIQUE UNIT Bombard Elephants (200food, 160gold) Anti Siege/Infantry short range artillery battle elephant. Could be balanced more in cost if need. Upgrade Cost (1000food,800gold) Stats - Normal/Elite HP - 200/250 (+20 Bloodlines) Att - 20/35 (Melee,+1attack from Chemistry) Amour - 0/1 Pierce - 1/1 (Cav Archer Armour Class) Range - 7-9 (min range =3) +1 range from Siege Engineers. Rate of fire - 6.5/6 (-25% for Civ bonus) Projectile speed - 5.5/6 (Spanish Bombard Cannons fire at 7 & bombard Cannons fire at 4) Blast Raduis - 0.3/0.5 Build time - 60/50sec Accuracy - 60%/70% Speed - 0.6/0.6 (+10% from Husbandry + Team Bonus & Civ Bonus from Monk LOS for +30%) Bonus Damages Infantry - 12-16 Buildings - 50/100 Ships, Siege & Camels - 10/12 Armour Classes Siege Weapon, UU, Cav Archer & Gunpowder. Gets Parthian Tactics effect. UNIQUE UNIT #2 Baghlah (150wood, 100gold) Are larger version of the Trade Cog (Galley Size) that carries double the gold. Higher HP & Armour but slightly slower. More pop efficient and a discount on wood vs buying Trade cogs also. Available for Bengals and their allies in the Castle age. Bengals were know in history as the best Empire to trade with. The spice trade would go onto help kick start the East India Trade Company. UNIQUE TECHS •Paik System (250food, 350gold) Archers & Infantry can repair Siege and Archers can Garrison inside of Rams & Siege Towers. Note* BBE can not be repaired only healed by monks. •Nalanda (900food, 775gold) Proceeds to research all University, Monastery & Market techs for free one at a time, each relic held increases research time by 5% for 20%total. The Some what cheap cost is part of the point of it taking up the slot of Imperial Unique Tech, Knowledge is a valuable thing. At practically the same cost of Faith but you have to wait to get the desired tech. Note* It includes Techs that are also unavailable in the Civs Tech Tree. This makes them get access to Heresy but only when it's queued. Techs will be chosen in order of availability. So roughly it will start at Coinage, Caravan, Masonry, fortified walls, rest of Castle Age Uni Techs, then jump to do Monastery Castle Age Techs. Then back to Market Imp Techs etc. with the last one being Theocracy & Bombard Tower. Obviously it just skips it if you have research an available tech already. TEAM BONUS Elephants +10% movement speed Elephants were a sign of royality and Bengal Nobles would breed and look after there Elephants like Europeans loved their Horses. TECH TREE(Missing Techs) Barracks - Squires Range - Thumb Ring, Heavy Cav Archer Stable - Hussar, Knight, Lancer Blacksmith - Bracer, Plate Boarding Armour Siege - Siege Ram, Heavy Scorpion Castle - Hoardings Monastery - Heresy, Sanctity, Block Printing Uni - Fortified Walls, Arrowslits Eco - 2 Hand Saw, Guides Dock - Full WONDER Nalanda University [link] [comments] | ||

What are your priorities right after advancing to Castle and Imperial Ages? Posted: 24 Dec 2021 07:25 PM PST I'm a relative noob, but have put together enough to figure out how to get through Dark and Feudal Ages with reasonable confidence, knowing to upgrade Wood collection, wheelbarrow, Blacksmith for whatever your strategy is, etc. But I never know what order to go about things in the Castle and Imperial Ages. Should I be pumping out siege weapons in castle age? Getting a quick Monastery and grabbing relics? Should I be making trebs right away in Imperial? Or upgrading my units so they outclass Castle Age opponents? [link] [comments] | ||

In both games I've played the game has been very laggy and uncomfortable to play. My FPS is fine but the game seems to be running at a low frame rate.
