During the treaty period a Germans player on the other team built a huge wall around himself and his teammates - basically half the map. Four layers thick. Extended well outside the normal treaty zone where u cant built out of. One of my teammates said he also had a TC in the middle of the map during treaty period (but i didnt see it) I called the guy out on it as a hack but he insisted it wasnt. Please tell me im right, that this is a hack. Or is there some kind of way this can be done that's kosher And while im here - literally fuck opri boxes. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Apr 2020 03:56 PM PDT Hey all, I'm coming back to AoE3, partly because of the coronavirus pandemic but also because AoE3 DE is probably the only game I'm going to buy on release this year. To the topic of the thread: Back in the day, I'd consider myself to be an above average player (PR 25-27 in 1v1 supremacy in Vanilla and TAD - and playing lower tier 1v1 civs such as Spain. What I'd love is to find a few laid back lads around PR 20-30 to have 1v1s with occasionally, learn new strats / civs (I never could be bothered learning the Asian civs) and so on. My friend and I are trying to set up a LAN game together for AOE3 using Hamachi as we can'T physically get together during these times, and after multiple attemps, we still can't seem to figure it out. I searched on the internet and found this : https://segmentnext.com/2010/02/19/age-of-empires-3-hamachi-guide/ Tried to follow the steps. The step one we were able to do, but when it comes to the step 2, this file is nowhere to be found. We are both playing on the Steam AOE3 complete edition version (the same version though). | Change Tactics from Formation in DE? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 06:19 AM PDT Tactics should be how unit behave, like Normal, Rush/Trample, Melee, Defense, and Stand Ground. Normal is the basic for all Ranged units shooting at range and goes into melee when the enemy is too close. Rush should just replace Guard mode, while Guard Mode decrease speed and attack while increasing the resistant of a melee unit, in early game the enemy could just focus fire on your pikeman and in late game using guard more is just going to make your pikeman a target practice for Skirmishers and Falconets. Rush on the other hand is basically makes Melee unit uses their max Velocity by literally running, Pikeman have a Speed of 5 and a max velocity of 7, thus pikeman with Rush Tactic will be able to chase cavalry like Hussars, but they will get more damage from both melee and Range, like for example 50% or 100%, making rush a risky but a tactic a desperate player could do to make the enemy fight in melee. While Formations is simple, there's Normal, Stagger, Wing, thin line, and Box. Normal is Normal. Stagger should be fixed for 50 Units. Wing is exclusive for cavalry where instead of being in the front they will be in the flanks. Thin Line is when the Infantry is in the rank of 3, while it's a very clumsy formation in marching, in battle cannons will have a hard time in dealing damage due to the small concentration of units, and the units in the thin line could easily encircle the enemy.. Box is only for Infantry, Cavalry should not be allowed to use box tactics, and maybe a smaller box is only possible with small numbers of units, to prevent the 1 Crossbow and 49 Pikeman, for example the smallest box can only be performed by 10 units, and if a player try the 1 Xbow and 49 Pike it will force the formation to use the largest box.
