Downloaded AoE3 on Steam forever ago and haven't touched it. Trying to kill time due to the virus but launching AoE3 prompts a window asking for the number on the packaging.

how do I find this number?

Good modding tutorial/guide?

Hey everyone. I have been playing this game with my friends often (especially now, in the days of pandemic and isolation).

And we often get new ideas of interesting and unique civilizations which would be cool, if existed.

So I got an idea that it would be cool to mod those ideas in. However, after googling for a while, I couldn't find a tutorial that lets me add a new civilization without overwriting existing ones. Some even claim that number of civs is hardcoded.

But there are nods like WoL, that add new civs, so it must be possible to add them.

Any good guides on how to do that? Do I just extract and edit .xml files? Or I need to remove hardcode somehow?

Any help is appreciated.

Help picking up new civ to play with

I'm playing with India and I've become pretty decent (lvl 23) thanks to this guide:

I've had trouble countering ottoman rush but really anjoyed rush so civs that can do both would be awesome :)
