| Posted: 27 Jun 2020 11:47 AM PDT Just bought AOE3 in the steam sale on my friends' requests. I'm trying to learn how to play (more than just the controls) so that I can actually play with my friends instead of sitting on my thumb for 5 minutes and then getting rushed down or sending in my whole army to die to like 3 of their guys. Every aoe guide I've been able to find either assumes you already know how to play the game (which isn't very helpful for a beginners guide), or just has a guy narrating his gameplay without really explaining the what and why of everything they're doing. This subs wiki is guilty of this as well, but at least they say so upfront. I have a basic understanding of general RTS mechanics/concepts from the small amount of starcraft I used to play but I have no idea how anything in this game works beyond "make workers and guys who shoot their stuff" Are there any good guides out there for the fundamentals? Stuff like how the resources work, when and why to focus on certain resources/buildings/units/objectives, what the different units do, and some really simple build order stuff just to get me started and help me to understand the strategy of the game? I just finished the in game tutorial and it more or less useless in terms of teaching me anything beyond the basic controls and all the guides I've found were also either not actual guides or assumed too much game knowledge. I can obviously play the game and learn most of this stuff over time but this game isn't particularly compelling or fun to play when you have no idea what you're supposed to be doing. edit: people seem to be missunderstanding what i'm asking for. I understand the basics of rts strategy in terms of building workers and spending resources and keybinds and control groups. What i dont know is the game specific stuff. Which resources are used to get which units and buildings, which buildings are useful for what kinds of strategies, what the differences are between all the different classes, etc. I want game knowledge, not mechanics tips [link] [comments] | ||
| Pls help me and answer some questions about india Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:10 AM PDT So i realy want to start playing india competetiv online But i have so many struggles and questions so basically At the start How many vills should i put on wood in the start to constantly make vills, while getting the food to age? Is it worth it to build very early a consultate to ally with ports and get super cheap houses, cheaper age up? Which shipment to get as a first shipment/age 1 ahipments?Currently i ship nothing in age 1 and just save it for age 2 to get 2 shipments quicker there, so pls what should i get age1?
