Now my mother even speaks in AoE Posted: 23 Oct 2020 03:47 PM PDT So I am a student doing online classes from home so during my free time I play and watch Age of Empires, so naturally my mother hears it around the house quite often and has picked up on a lot of the terms. So today I was talking with her and mistakenly she said "teutonic plates" instead of "tectonic plates"! Should we be able to ban one civ when qeueing? (Tired of goth laming) Posted: 23 Oct 2020 03:58 PM PDT Hi guys, Lately, everytime the screen shows that my opponent is goths, its almost guaranteed that he will do the vill laming, and it's getting extremely annoying. I love the game, I like to improve, I like to get bested by someone who played better and learn from it, but laming in general (which became easier with DE mechanics) and goth laming in particular kind of ruins the experience. I want to lose because of strategy reasons / decision making, not by RNG based tactics that automatically put you ahead of the game with little risk involved. It might be different at very high elos where players have superb adaptability, but at my level (14xx) is extremely hard to deal with because there is no direct counter to it. In most matches the player who gets lamed tries to catch up and fails. It's also becoming more and more common, as a lot of players see it as an easy ticket for victory and to get points. Obviously not all matches are like that, most aren't, so I get to enjoy those. I just thought if we could ban a civ we don't like to play against it could solve the problem; or simply nerf laming and do a rework on Goths.
