IamChris vs Hoang ShowMatch Bo5 Wednesday 02:00 GMT Posted: 16 Oct 2020 11:27 AM PDT Hello Everyone, I will be having a Bo5 ShowMatch against Hoang on Wednesday 02:00 GMT. I will be live streaming it on my Twitch Channel https://www.twitch.tv/iamchris_age2 Since the day I came back, the mods on my channel made a command for Hoang, where it says: "Don't spoil strategies. Just let Celt eat TC. It's more fun that way" This is my first time playing against him, should be lots of fun, hope to see you all there =] -IamChris [link] [comments]

What's up with the meme "Hey man, I meant to pick Magyars"? Posted: 17 Oct 2020 12:53 AM PDT I saw T90 say this while trolling as he picked Malay. What's the story behind it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Oct 2020 06:22 AM PDT Hello there, I have recently been taking part in some smaller tournaments and noticed that theres often a problem when the organizers want to cast the games and people are playing a best of 3 for example but only play 2 maps. This means whoever wins the first game will also win the second one and spoils the fun a bit. So I was wondering if there is something like an 'anti spoiler tool' which would for example create a random recorded game (maybe copy another one or even adjust the civs) and modify the date of the replays to be all the same, so without really looking into it theres no way to tell the outcome. Obviously you could do all this by hand (apart from the civ change) but who in those smaller tournaments especially (I'm not sure about how bigger ones handle this) would invest the time in that. If there is no such thing, would there be interest in one? Cheers :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:47 AM PDT Hi everyone, noob here. Started playing age recently but feel too scared to go multiplayer so I've been practicing against AIs. I decide to focus on playing Franks on Arabia for now, and can beat moderate AIs very comfortably, but would lose to hard AIs consistently. I find it much more difficult to scout rush them while keeping up my own econ. I've also tried to 3 TC boom and turtle, and would win a few fights at my base with defenses and counter units. But as soon as I step out of my castles range I lose the fight and throw the whole game from there. Anything that I'm doing wrong? I'm just really confused and frustrated that I'm losing to bots so consistently. [link] [comments]
Slingers are better than Handcannons, change my mind Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:29 AM PDT Slingers, one of the unique units for Incas which can be made at the archery range, perform a very similar anti-infantry role to handcannons. Except in my opinion they are better in almost every way. They are cheaper (30f 40g) than HC (40f 50g) They are easier to mass (25 sec) than HC (34 sec) They have a faster firing rate (2.0 compared to 3.45) and a faster frame delay (5 compared to 15) They have 90% accuracy and benefit from thumb ring and ballistics, compared to HC who have 65% accuracy and don't benefit from those techs so they are always inaccurate And they also benefit from all ranged upgrades, so they end with 8 range compared to HCs 7 The downsides would be that they only have 4 base attack and minimum range, similar to a skirmisher, but they get to 4+4 base damage and have the 10 bonus damage vs infantry, and with the Castle age UT they no longer have minimum range. And honestly the best thing is that you can start adding in 7 range slingers in castle age, whereas you can only start making HC once you hit imp and research chemistry which takes 100 seconds. Posted: 17 Oct 2020 07:23 AM PDT So to explain the situation a bit: My setup: GTX 1070 I7-6700k 16GB RAM 144Hz G-sync compatible monitor AOE2:DE installed on SSD For the past few days, maybe a bit more than a week, I felt heavy stuttering which at first I thought were random and quickly realised that the game was running perfectly smoothly at 144fps only when I was tabbed out on my second monitor, so I did a bit more digging and found out that the very moment I had youtube or twitch or any kind of video streaming thing on my second monitor AOE2 would get locked at near 50 fps and only go back to 144 when tabbing out or closing the video currently playing on my second monitor. I don't think it's a CPU problem, I checked every single core during those low FPS moments and none of the individual cores was going above 30%, same for GPU, never went above 30%. Graphics settings in-game seem to barely change anything (magnitude of a few FPS at most) I tried fiddling with lots of settings such as NVIDIA v-sync, in-game v-sync and a few other things I can't recall from the top of my head. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? [link] [comments]

Lured a boar first try, watch out vipi here I come! Posted: 16 Oct 2020 05:20 PM PDT Last played the game in 2010. Finally got back into it today and really enjoying myself. Can't believe I haven't lost a vil to luring boars yet. I also militia rushed GOTH A.I on HIDEOUT while I was HUNS and it friggin worked. But something tells me I'm gonna suck at defense. And I still haven't tried luring deer, I just mill them and leave 3 vils unsupervised. Maybe over the weekend. Oh and I always thought huskarls meant gg but paladin rekt them and since a.i. never got to anarchy and perfusion, it was so one sided. Going to try the same match up on harder setting tomorrow. FC Boom with Cicero's Scenario - What am I doing wrong? Posted: 16 Oct 2020 07:20 PM PDT Trying to do FC Boom, there are a lot of things that don't really make sense to me within the tutorial.
Honestly, I just don't really understand a lot of it. Some things line up nicely like sheep into boars, but other things just feel all over the place and like I've got way too many villiagers compared to what it expects, even though my numbers are correct. As nice as the guide is with the overlay and voiceover, there definitely feels like there are a few holes for someone as useless as I am Any advice would really be appreciated, thanks! 3v3 4v4 ranked matches AoE2 DE early leaver rage thread Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:13 AM PDT I like to play 3v3 or 4v4 random maps. I think there is much more tension and fun in it. Especially including the likelihood of a comeback after getting raided if your teammate is doing batter on another theater. But most matches I start end up pretty lame and uncontested because you always got one player who just leaves on any pressure or without any apparent reason at all. Is there a better platform then the standard ranked matches out there? [link] [comments]
