[spoilers] the AOE2 pro scene is in the healthiest place its been in soooooo long Posted: 18 Oct 2020 02:53 PM PDT I love viper hes such a good player and incredibly entertaining streamer.I love Larry when shows up. I love the aggressiveness of MBL i love Hera. i love yo. The "demise" of Viper is the best thing for this sport. not knowing from the start if a tournament who is going to win is incredible, and I am sure Viper would agree. I don't think Viper has lost anything. I just think the rest of the field, after half a decade caught up. The only bad thing from Viper perspective is he lost his advantage as soon as the money became real. Viper will win another tournament of that I am sure. But, thankfully he wont win every tournament . Mr. Yo vs TheViper Posted: 18 Oct 2020 12:11 PM PDT What an incredible set. I don't think anyone realistically expected it to go this way. Draft: Seemed pretty even, though letting Yo grab both Aztecs and Incas seemed risky (especially since Incas is a great counter against Mayans + Noboru possibility). Interesting to see Chinese banned instead of Lithuanians but that worked out pretty well (Khmer ban seems meta). Game 1: Wow. Viper had a bad map for Mongols with the stone, but this should be a huge civ win for Mongols against Slavs (Hera's "So you want to play Slavs" video calls Mongols the counter pick to Slavs https://youtu.be/sFby8jAN8X0?t=521 and Capoch felt the same when facing Hera in Clown Cup). Viper actually played very solid but Mr. Yo played his map advantage to perfection. Hugely impressive how calm/strategic Yo played knowing he had a narrow window in Castle before Mongols can't lose to Slavs. Game 2: Viper did very well to survive as long as he did, but this was just a huge map win for Yo. Still, some clear spots where Viper didn't play optimally (missing holes in Yo's wall and not prioritizing castling the gold) and also spots where Yo outsmarted Viper (looping around with MAA and sniping a villager). Game 3: Yo made more mistakes in this game than the previous two and Viper actually had a lead in this game. Very impressive comeback against a very strong civ (especially with the huge relic advantage Viper had with Lithuanians). Even if Yo lost this, he probably felt very confident having Incas/Vikings/Franks in his back pocket. tl;dr: Yo is an absolute beast. This is shades of Nadal's rivalry against Federer in how dominant Yo has been recently against Viper. It's all the more shocking given how well Viper has played recently and how well rested he should be. Still, Hera/Liereyy are probably favorites against Yo in the semi-finals given their head-to-head track record (and the fact Yo did lose to MbL 3-2). submitted by /u/Mediocre-Routine [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Oct 2020 06:06 AM PDT Hello guys, my internet is pretty good but I have been having massive lag issues that have costed me the last 2 the games I played (I have only played 3 1vs1 matches). Is there anything that I can do to prevent that happening apart from the usual things to do? I play a lot of online games and I only have experienced this kind of delay in aoe2. 2v2v2v2 Black Forest against Hard AI - Update! Posted: 18 Oct 2020 03:46 PM PDT We did it! Fast castle really toned down thier early aggression, as well as strong walls on the chokepoints with castles. Once we were booming nice and hard we slowly started to take everyone out one by one, though the last two really took some doing. Weirdly the ai seeminly didn't even to attempt to fight eachother lol. Once we had everything set up defensively, they pretty much couldn't touch us.
