    A lot of people reading this are going to think I'm over reacting but I'm being serious.

    I used to play AoE2 back in 2002 when I was a kid, then came back to the game at the beginnings of this pandemic, mainly because of nostalgia reasons, but also to kill some time and to have fun. At first I was enjoying it and it was just a game, I didn't care too much about losing but now I'm becoming a very bitter and angry person due to playing so much AoE2.

    To explain my AoE2 obsession, I need to explain my backstory. Since I returned to the game, I've played +300 1v1 RM games, and around 50 TG. To improve my play style and increase my Elo, I copied the Finns and now I play exclusively using the cube mod. This game that once filled my with awe for how beautifully it depicted medieval life, now has become a green canvas with some abstract shapes that don't bring me joy anymore.

    To increase my knowledge of the game, I marathoned all of SotL videos in order, even the old ones that are not relevant anymore since the new patches. All that knowledge I absorbed from these videos turned me into a bitter person, to the point that I constantly laugh at my opponents for their mistimed build orders or misplaced buildings.

    I play so much AoE2 that I have started using taunts IRL. My family have criticized my for saying the word "eleven" out loud instead of laughing like a normal human being. They resent me when I text them "3" at dinner time or when I exclaim "7" whenever an alarm goes off.

    Not only I play a lot of AoE2, I also watch a lot of AoE2. Tier 3 subs to popular streamers are now normal to me. The other day, I surprised myself when in a knee-jerk reaction, I yelled "KOREEEEEEEEEEANS" when some new coworkers introduced themselves. I got reprimanded by HR, trying to explain that this exclamation was not racist, but was a part of a game. Yelling at the top of my lungs the words "TOOOOOOTONS" and "COOOOOOOOOOOMANS" didn't help my cause.

    AoE2 has become my whole life. The little time when I'm not actively playing AoE2 is spent in forums such as this one, getting mad at people for not knowing the meta as well as I do, or yelling at strangers on "Noobs only" discord tournaments. Even at night, I'm unable to escape AoE2. My dreams, once filled with flying cars or celebrities being happy to meet me, have been replaced by the sensual figure of Gbetos and female villagers, whenever my eyes are closed, my mind starts imagining new civs, unique units and bonuses that can improve the game.

    I'm not the same person who went into quarantine 9 months ago, and probably I'll never be. This may not resonate with some of you but for some it might, so I am asking for help. I honestly don't know how pro players deal with it, especially when they have tens of thousands of eyes on them. At least nobody online knows who I am, and I can hide my shame and embarrassment under a Reddit alias.

    Hi guys,

    I am incredibly fascinated by his APM and playstyle, unluckily he is not very active and does not bring any content, and I cannot find games from his point of view. I do not mean recorded games, I mean live games where you can literally see the speed and mouse action. Are the any or is it really impossible ? Thanks.

    AOE 2 needs more detailed statistics that show your personal winrate by map and civ

    Personally I sometimes wonder which civ I have the best winrate with, but there's no system to check. Guarentee people would welcome such an addition.

    I also know from experience that when I'm on a winstreak the game's like "oh hey sounds like you need ARENA AND WATER NOMAD" so I would get a good laugh out of seeing my horriawful winrate on those.
