| Do any of youse get a huge dose of adrenaline when playing AOE2 online? Posted: 09 Jan 2021 02:23 AM PST Every time I play online on AOE2 I literally feel like I'm about to have a fight or something. My armpits sweat buckets and my hands don't feel like they can do precise micromanagement as they have a shaky feeling but there not (it's weird to explain). Even my heartbeat starts fucking racing with adrenaline. It's a weird experience that is annoying. I don't have any health problems or anything as well. I haven't played a great deal of AOE2DE online though so I guess that's why and I just need to learn to relax more. I was wondering if any of you guys has experienced the same thing with AOE2 and does it go away the more you play? [link] [comments] | ||

| Why is Berbers late game considered bad? Posted: 09 Jan 2021 06:18 AM PST Hey all, When I was looking at the tech tree of berbers; why is the late game considered not so good? They have FU hussars/skirms and decent siege . Is it because they don't have halberdiers? Or is it because they suck vs siege? DO they suck vs siege/halb? Or what should I do versus that? You finally start to turn the tables, the AI has a huge number of buildings and you are ready to take them on. And then, the AI resigns and you never have the satisfaction of really putting your troops and people to work! Is there a game mode that can let your victory play out a bit longer? For me, it's scout rush - just never done it. I get so angry when people scout rush me that I guess I just can't do it to others lol. What about you? | Matchup question from a beginner Posted: 09 Jan 2021 02:10 AM PST I am a beginner and trying to focus on playing Celts. I saw my opponent going for a lot of skirms, so I went for pikemen which I added siege to later. Would you say this is the correct reaction? I went pikes instead of militia since I felt I then covered horse options later in the game, which would counter my siege. Also, when should I go for ballista and when should I go for mangonel. Posted: 08 Jan 2021 08:30 PM PST Ive been playing aoe for a long while and sit around 1k elo 1v1 and 1300 team but I ONLY play cav civs. Bulgarians , Lithuanians ,Spanish , Teutons . An aoe game just doesnt feel right without Paladins , plus watching a stream of heavy cavalry just seems like a true medieval army. Plus mircoing archers just really takes a lot of work to get the right value out of them Anyone agree or disagree? [link] [comments] | ||

| What can be done against turtling boomers? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 05:18 PM PST In most of my 1v1 games I use to execute better build orders than my rivals (confirmed by watching recorded matches), apply an early pressure in Dark Age (Drush FC) or Feudal Age (Scouts into Knights, MAA into Archers), depending on civs matchup, but generally getting advantage on early game. Even getting Castle Age faster or at least by the same time. But after that, when my rival stone walls his base (sometimes adding towers and castles too) it ends up with him out booming me, getting Imp faster, and defeating me by having a better economy, upgraded military and trebs, before I can get all my Imp upgrades.
