I am picking random civ from now on! Posted: 12 Apr 2021 11:04 PM PDT I always used to main 2-3 civs and made it up to around 1200 ELO, but then I got pretty bored and didn't play AoE at all for months. Now, I always pick random and it's just so much more fun! I had a bit of a losing streak and am now at around 1080, but every game is just so engaging, trying to find the right strategy for each civ and learning to adapt. I even got a win with Burmese, a civ I would normally never pick 11. So, to those of you out there afraid of going random and losing precious points; try it! It is really good fun! Also, are there other players at this ELO that do this as well? I feel like at 1000-1200 people tend to main mostly a few civs. [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Apr 2021 11:14 PM PDT I had a unique idea to buff the civ since their win rate is pretty low. Give them the chinese discount tech on eco upgrades but reverse it. So 20% dark age, 15% feudal, 10% castle, and 5% imperial. This encourages players to take the techs earlier and offers them a larger incentive to do so. [link] [comments]

Cavalry Archer / Mongol Counter Posted: 13 Apr 2021 07:11 AM PDT Yesterday I was playing Bukhara in AOE2 DE. I was playing on Medium and man, it took me a long time to beat, primarily due to the fact that the Mongols had speedy siege rams running all over the place and the cavalry archers were doing a number on my skirmishers and camels. I was debating afterwards if I should've focused on making Paladins instead or Heavy Camels to fight the enemy cavalry archers and mangudai. Does anybody know which is better? I went with Heavy Camels because I assumed the cavalry bonus and speed would help, but I'm wondering if the Paladin pierce armor would've done more for me, coupled with they'd be better for taking out the siege rams. How to counter Aztecs on Arena 1v1? (1000 elo) Posted: 13 Apr 2021 02:08 AM PDT While playing Arena, I'm consistently losing to Aztecs. As I play a lot of team games so, FC - 3 TC boom is my bread and butter and I up to Castle late 16 mins or early 17 mins almost everytime. (I don't push deer) One thing I notice is that the Aztec player is upto Castle earlier than me (16:05) or almost at my same time. Then I face like a variety of aggresive moves - 1) Castle drop to my face. 2) Too many eagles running around while monk collect relics. 3) Forward Eagle Seige push. I'm playing Franks as I wanna learn the civ inside out. And have lost 6/6 now. Any tips/strategies/comments/opinions is appreciated. [link] [comments]

Definitive Edition Crashing In Multiplayer Posted: 12 Apr 2021 11:17 PM PDT As the title says I've been having some issues with playing multiplayer with my friend, after roughly 20-30 minutes the game crashes to desktop, this seems like a known issue but I can't find a solution that works, I've tried increasing the virtual memory, deleting the hd dlc, closing all backround applications and having him host the match no matter what I do It always crashes, does anyone have anymore suggestions on how to fix this? Any help is appreciated [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Apr 2021 06:22 AM PDT Why not have the game cycle into a nighttime mode? Reduce LOS, adjust brightness/contrast and give everything a moonlight shine. [link] [comments] |
