- I finished collecting all of the possible resources on a Ludicrous Sized Map of Amazon Tunnel, but with a twist: I then converted all of the wood I gathered into farms. I went from ~20 MILLION wood to 13. I was Huns.

It's about a week too late, but honestly he's one of my favorite content creators and his dad passed on the 31st of March. As shown in the video below he is planning a charity stream in honor of his dad. I cannot even fathom what he's going through but I hope we can support him as much as possible. Are slingers too much for castle age? Posted: 09 Apr 2021 05:17 AM PDT Hi! I've been thinking about the fact that Incas has access to a hard counter for infantry in castle age that it's almost a HC. I really don't understand the mechanic of this unit because there is no real counter to inca composition in castle age. Slingers are way better than archers to counter infantry. How can you stop a composition made of eagles (that are way too cheap as well) + slingers ? Also the fact that slingers do not requiere extra steps (no blacksmith needed) to counter infantry does not allow a hidden transition to M@A doable, because once the inca player see your m@a line they can make justo 10 or 15 slingers and not upgrade them at all and have the advantage again. Bengali civ concept (likely my last) Posted: 09 Apr 2021 08:02 AM PDT The Pala empire (8-12th centuries) was significant Buddhist empire in India, starting from Bengal, and will be the primary inspiration for this concept. However, there were also other Bengali empires before and after the Pala that would fall under the umbrella of the "Bengalis". The Pala used large numbers of war elephants and also started the second major spread of Buddhism from India (including into Tibet). For information (and the source for one of the UT names): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pala_Empire Bengali civilization Elephant and Siege civ Bonuses: - Boars/Elephants/rhinos, etc. last 50% longer. implemented like Tatar bonus for sheep - Builds Storage Silo unique building Replaces of mill/lumber camp/mining camp. Allows drop-off of any resource, can research farming/wood-chopping/gold and stone mining upgrades, and allows for farm auto-queue, etc. Cost = 100 wood. HP = 1200. Supports 5 population. Can garrison 5 villagers (no arrows). Counts as two buildings for going up to Feudal Age. - Receive 1 monk with each age up (in feudal, monks have -3 range, slightly delayed conversion timer = +1 second to minimum time, +2 seconds to maximum time for conversion). Arrives at Age-up TC. Won't be great at converting units in feudal, but can still heal units / try to pick up relics with a large head start! - Monasteries can be built in feudal and train monks (with double the usual monk training time and no technologies available until castle age) Together, the monk bonuses represent the Pala Buddhist missionaries Team bonus: - Siege units +2 LOS Unique Techs: Elephant Breeding (300f/300g)- Elephant units and their elite upgrades train/research 33% faster Mahasenapati (800f/750g): Elephant and Siege workshop units 20% increased bonus damage (includes vs. buildings, vs. other siege, vs. elephants, etc.) Unique Unit: Siege Elephant (elephant with a weak melee attack, but a massive bonus vs. buildings. Somewhat of a ram/elephant hybrid. Has a substantial blast radius, effected by standard cavalry upgrades, and siege engineers/Unique tech for bonus damage [no +1 range with SE]. Very similar to the flail elephant in aoe3, I think) Stats (elite, upgrade cost =1000f/700g): cost per unit = 135f / 75g. hp = 240 (320). Armor = negative 2 melee / 3 pierce (0/5). Attack = 3 (4). Bonus damage = +65 (+85) vs. buildings, +20 (+25) vs. siege units. [bonus damage similar to rams, but about half] Blast radius = 1.5 (2) [blast radius deals ½ damage to surrounding units and buildings, including bonus damage]. Movement speed = 0.80. Training time = 25s. Armor classes: cavalry, elephant, siege, unique unit. Treated as cavalry, not siege, for the purpose of conversion and healing. Tech tree (only buildings with missing techs shown): Barracks: eagle. Archery Range: parthian tactics, handcannon. Stable: paladin, steppe lancer. Monastery: heresy, faith. Siege-shop: BBC. Blacksmith: bracer. University: bombard tower, architecture, heated shot. Dock: drydock, heavy demolition ship. Eco: crop rotation, gold shaft mining, guilds. Castle: (none). Summary: Strong: siege, monks, elephants, infantry (fully upgraded). Weak: archers, water, gunpowder. Passable: cavalry, economy, late game trash units. This is probably the last of my civ concepts, as the number of viable ideas for new bonuses is limited (and even this one required some extra brainstorming to come up with, and it is probably not my best). This rounds out the seven civilizations I have crafted (six under this reddit account and 1 Polynesian civ concept under a prior, deleted account https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe2/comments/k85foe/polynesian_miniexpansion_idea_long/), all of which together have non-overlapping bonuses and therefore could all co-exist. I was hoping that all of these could provide good gameplay & balance using some novel, but not utterly crazy mechanics (perhaps erring on the side of slightly under-powered). Then get a attitude like u should of been watching out for them. Then I played a black forest game where my starting tc was kinda close to my opposing flanks but I had plenty of backend space to expand to ...so I thought .. my pocket comes over and builds like 6 markets in that space I kid u not ...ok maybe it was like 4 but still I tried to explain to him that I need that space to farm could u please delete that. So tldr version. No one ask for help untill it's to late . And teamates building useless buildings in my space .even had a couple nomads games were I flash my location and they still try and build houses around my tc really tilts me b4 the game even really starts [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 08 Apr 2021 08:57 PM PDT Hi fellas, I decided to play without walls so I make 0 walls ( except quickwalls )throughout the game. So, this is how it went. I go random all game, all the time enemy was fully walled within minute 10. They see that I am not walled and invest into towering my gold or going for heavy army. To their surprise I just clicked up to castle age way before them and took the game from there. In some games, where I played vs the same guy over and over, he found out the pattern that I am doing and he fully walled (no surprise in today's meta) and clicked up to castle age before me (he was Franks). Some of my thoughts are, if you play without walls, you have to be position centric. When you can attack and when you have to defend. Some times walls are just too strong and I cannot even make a single damage. Adding siege won't help as they would make their own siege. But, most of the time I won without walls because opponent didn't find out my playstyle of outmacroing him to castle age faster. So, what are your thoughts on playing without walls? To me, playing without walls removes the claustrophobia. I can easily place my farms without having to worrying about raids as I will be open anyways. Edit : I am 1500 elo [link] [comments] | ||
