    Japanese AI + Shines Question

    Posted: 03 May 2021 10:37 PM PDT

I was wondering two things: one, how do I help my AI buddy when he's Japanese with his shrines? Cause any herded animals I send his way just seem to stand there and two, as the Japanese how do I get more herded animals beyond say, treasures? Can I ask the AI to send them to me somehow?

Is there a limit on how many cards you can send after revolting?

I have benn rushing games with easy set ups for the USA challenge and decided to check the revolting ottomans on the walk, but after sending like 4 cards I can't send anymore, it says I already reached the limit of cards I can send but I know I haven't

I built 3 town centers as both Japan and Dutch and I still don't have the challenge completed. I even wanted to build an extra town center as dutch to be sure but you max at 3. Is anyone else having this issue or just me?

Hi! Guys I need a bit of suggestion for a rts game that I am making. Since you are all pros ...can you help me out.

    Posted: 03 May 2021 11:59 PM PDT

So as part of a student project I am designing a fantasy based rts games that revolves around a age up mechanic simillar to age of empires.

The caveat is each age up option is unlocked in certain building. Doing age ups from each different buildings grants each faction unique bonuses that drastically changes the playibilty of that faction.

For example - upgrading with the market gives you more trickle of export. Whereas upgrading using the arsenal ublocks certain upgrades for your army.

Resource wise : you have 4 resource- food wood gold and export. Export allows you to unlock certain upgrades and trade it for gold food or wood and the rest is simillar to aoe 3.

Units in these game is broken into a few categories.

Economic units- they include your typical villager, merchant and fishing ships. Merchant is simillar to a villager but collects export by trading between multiple markets

Military units are broken down into 3 groups.

    #1 Infantry

    1. Heavy infantry - these are slow very high hp high melee armour, low attack units. They have high bonus vs cavalry at melee. They dont have any ranged attack.

    2. Standard infantry - low hp high speed infantry with good ranged arnour. Has a unusually high melee attack and weak ranged attack. Has a bonus vs villagers and archers.

    3. Ranged infantry - these units have very high hitpoints but less arnour. But a very powerful long ranged attack. Has 2 subcategories.

    4. Archers -has ranged armour, has long range and a bonus vs all infantry units at range.

    5. Gunpowder infantry - has shorter range but much higher hitpoints and no ranged armour. And a big bonus vs cavalry at range.

    #2 cavalry

    1. Light cavalry - has low hitpoints. Starts with no armour. But has higher speed and a powerfull melee and ranged attack. Only bonus vs artillery.

    2. Heavy cavalry - very high hitpoints and armour. Has much less attack than light cavalry but has high bonuses vs artillery and infantry.

    • #3 Artillery *

Light artillery - fast cheap and has low hitpoints but high bonus vs infantry.

Siege artillery - fast moving long ranged artillery with high bonus vs ships and buildings and enemy artillery.

Heavy artillery - slow and expensive artillery with high hitpoints and very high base attack. But no bonuses.

Is this system okay or is it too boring and simillar to aoe. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My Civ List for a (Not Real) AOE3 Rip-Off. Come give your Opinion!

    Posted: 03 May 2021 03:40 PM PDT

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/113aPKeiToVdBrofG3jrodsJOJuTXfX3wXJ5ZyJg8sAs/edit?usp=sharing

For the sake of curiosity, entertainment, and self-education, I've been casually researching the Early Modern Period (Specifically 1600-1900) In an attempt to build a working Civ List that accounts for all the Big Players without getting 'too' unwieldy.

Each Civ Family shares basic units/tech-trees (All American Civs would have the same basic units, rather than AOE3's more handmade approach to non-Europeans) And then each Civ within the Family would get a handful of Tech-Tree restrictions, Civ Bonuses, and Unique Units (Swapped out, rather than added).

Each Civ should be about half as Unique as AoE2 Civs are--The rest of the Diversity should come from the different Civ Families.

So... yeah! This is just for fun, so I hope you enjoy taking a look! Constructive Criticism and Obvious Mistakes would be preferable.

(P.S: Feel free to leave comments on the Document!)

    Peerage and knighthood

    Posted: 03 May 2021 10:59 AM PDT

I'm playing as the French and when I advanced to the imperial age I selected the dude who allows you to unlock knighthood and peerage. What do these upgrades do? And do you get the automatically for choosing him? I can't see where to buy those upgrades

Train 20 Skirmishers in a single game.

What gives? I keep playing different civ's and trying their "skirmisher" type unit as stated in the tooltips but it never unlocks. I'm playing via the challenge menu. I've researched which unit types for each civ are considered a skirmisher.

I don't get it. Which unit do they want? Why can't these be more clear?

It says you have to create some militia in the town center - so it requires a European civ and a revolution? Japanese "Militia" didn't work, I guess Minutemen won't either?
